Recently, two of my favorite blogging girls, East Side Bride and Christine from Pretty, Pretty Paper launched Read the Printed Word, where you can pledge to read more books by setting one of these little icons up on your blog. Find them here. I'll be honest, my reading habits have declined since college! But since the holidays, I've stepped it up! I hope to share my favorite new reads on this blog in the coming months.
yay!
ps - i just got my very first (as an adult) library card!!! i am quite excited.

I can't wait to see your favorite reads - I love any chance to add new books to my to-read list.... even though it's already miles & miles long.

This is IT! The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery! I am 3/4 through the book and I only started reading it last Saturday. This book was on the NYTimes Best Sellers list. READ IT!

What a great concept - adding one of the icons to my blog now.
Long live the printed word & lovely local libraries!

nice. i just finished The Bell Jar and Franny and Zooey. Two classics that I hadn't read since college. Definitely good for the intellect and the vocabulary and the formal reminder of good writing.

I have a reading list and lately it hasn't moved an inch! Haven't got around to finish a current book for ages, too much distraction.
Adding the icon on my blog, too. =)

i love this...what a fantastic idea.
I'm so old school (perhaps a closet luddite...) I LOVE real books...can't imaging reading anything on a kindle.
sigh.

This is a great idea. I have a whole shelf of books that need reading.

I did this. Yey. I think my reading time has been sucked into the computer...

Love it! I will always embrace the printed word. Who needs a kindle when you can feel the weight of a book in your hand and smell its pages as you read?

this is so wonderful! i added the icon to my blog right away.

Yeah another guilty of not reading enough. When I do read it is nerdy Star Wars novels. Sucker for those.
