frolic!

rose and radish does it again!

I know, I know. I already said goodbye. I haven't left yet and I just happened to catch up on the Rose and Radish Journal and I couldn't resist sharing. Rose and Radish is my favorite flower shop in the world right now. They manage to keep things fresh and modern without going all funky and weird and contrived. I love the pictures of flowers they are capturing on their journal (see my true love- the violets, above). And, have you seen their dreamy floral subscriptions? I wish I lived in San Francisco so I could buy one for me (yes, I do buy my own flowers:) and everyone I know. I seriously cannot contain my excitement. Flowers just do it for me. I promise I really am signing off now!

I am signing off early for the weekend so I can get some stuff done before I head down to Southern Oregon to visit my new niece (isn't she cute?). Then, next week, I am off for a mini-break to SLC. While I'm away, a fabulous new guest blogger will be filling in for me, starting Monday.

I first read about Melissa Davis when her darling garden rose wedding was featured in Martha Stewart. A couple of weeks ago, I ran across her website, for her boutique PR Firm, Ruby PR. farewell to the finches

Are you weary of me blathering on again about how much I like The Finches? I can't quite convince anyone to love this little band as much as I do. While I was in a state of bliss at their concert last year, my friends all nodded off to sleep. I periodically check their site to see when they'll return to Portland. When I did that yesterday, I found out that The Finches are no more! Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs has a new project called PALMS. I'm feeling very grumpy about it. At least I can savor their music on CD and Vinyl and maybe I'll eventually get used to the new stuff. We'll see.

a prop room for moi!

I wish I had a prop room.  Denise recently posted about Martha's dream of prop room. A few months back, Donna Hay Magazine (pictured above) wrote a little tidbit about their (somewhat smaller) prop room. Hmmm wish I worked there. It'd be lovely to just have those drawers of ribbons! Nonetheless, it's inspiration to get the ribbons I do have organized!

local artist: tsilli

 

I am a sucker for any sort of art involving paper and sewing stitches. When I met Tsilli at the Design* Sponge event on Tuesday (was great, btw) and she mentioned that this was one of her techniques, I knew I had to see her work. A graphic designer by profession, Tsilli also has a business called New Ketubah where she makes contemporary versions of Jewish wedding contracts. She delves into silkscreening, photography (including Holgas and Polaroids), and all sorts of other crafts.
