I love this sweet ruffly dress from Built by Wendy's Spring Collection. The Tennis Dress is pretty cute too.
I am sort of obsessing over these two posts on the Glamorous blogs. I think it's a lovely look for a bride with a simple shorty dress and a casual wedding. I like the idea of keeping the flower crown light and simple.
I know this wedding has been posted around the web a bit but I love the bride's whole look. Yes, her dress is a bit poofier than I usually prefer, but she pulls it off very well I think.

I was thrilled to discover Taste Matters, a Portland-based eating design studio created by Tricia Martin. These photos are from Uprooted, a recent event she created. Notice the vintage postcards used for place cards, the potato sack napkins, and the multiple utensils at each place-setting (to spur conversation between guests). I am not usually much for engagement photos but I think this set by Jose Villa is really sweet. The couple owns the lovely shop Horne. Also, I am obsessed with this much-featured wedding Jose shot. Oh, and these. Another wonderful film photographer!
Myra just sent over some images from The English Dept. bridal show that happened yesterday. Somehow I had it in my head that it was on the 2nd not the 1st so I missed it! A lot of local designers contributed to the show including Elizabeth Dye, Twigs & Honey, Kate Towers, and Ink & Peat. The ensemble above is my favorite. Sometimes I forget that a little ruffle can be quite pretty.
I was excited when Viola wanted to be a sponsor on Frolic! because she's one of my favorite letterpress girls. What I love about Chewing the Cud, though, is that it's not limited to paper. Viola works with a variety of mediums in unusual ways (i.e. the kitchen towel/save the date above and remember this?). Chewing the Cud is witty and charming and I am always excited to see what Viola will come up with next.
