sneak peek: wedding shoot

Here's a sneak peek of the shoot I worked on yesterday (created sets + styled props).  This sweet, sweet dress was designed by Elizabeth Dye and the dreamy photograph was shot by Lisa Warninger.  The model was the lovely Anna Adams +  stunning, handmade hairpieces were provided by Twigs and Honey. I had a lot of fun working with these talented women and can't wait to share more photos with you. Also, thanks to my friend Jaime for helping me haul and set up all the props.

flower of the week: sweet violets

 

As you know, I adore sweet violets. I am sorry that you've already seen these recently but I thought I'd share a few more pictures for my Flower of the Week series. Violets don't last long (3 days) but they are so worth it for their fragrance and charm. I like to leave their stems extra long for a wild look.

Remember this cabin my little brother built? Here  are some camera phone snapshots of the barn he is building next to it. I love the aged wood and stone foundation. I can't wait to see it in person!

new things + happy weekend!

I generally don't buy things. Blogging helps me purge all of my materialistic tendencies. However this week, I've purchased quite a bit including this Eliza Gran bag and a Tamara Shopsin planner. I adore them. It's been a pretty frustrating week and it won't be over for a few more days. I'll be honest, sometimes a little retail therapy can make you feel happy! Hope you all have a great weekend!

I was channeling my inner English girl today in a number of ways.  During the afternoon, I popped into Ink & Peat and saw this glorious book about English interiors and was unable to resist it. It is written by a former editor of World of Interiors so you know it has to be good.
